Noble Handcrafted

Even though the French Toast has its origin way back in Roman times, the bread soaked in egg became especially known at the end of the 18th century. Driven by poverty pain perdu was a good way to eat old bread instead of throwing it out. It was only in the 20th century that French Toast was uplifted to the status of a delicacy, not in the least due top the addition of maple syrup.

Committed to the exploration of world’s greatest bounty – food – Mikuni Wild Harvest sells unique, hand crafted and foraged items to some of the top chefs all over the world. And to share their passion for nature and good food more generously, Mikuni also launched a line of products available for small-batch food craftsmen and those who would like to offer a beautiful syrup or vinegar as a gift. Or simply to those who like beautiful design. The Noble line consists of 2 aged maple syrups and 3 vinegars (not to mix up if you do want them for your French Toast). Each product is packed in a heavy glass bottle topped with a cork and sealed with a blob of thick white wax. Not only does it make a seemingly regular product look premium, it also shows how much Mikuni embraces craftsmanship. And to underline that fact, each bottle has a simple paper label that uses vintage type in a straight forward setting, faded ink and subtle but elegant ornaments that creates an image of a 19th century apothecary bottles. One can’t help wondering, if the French would have had Noble Handcrafted Syrup to make their bread tasty back in the 18th century, would history have taken a different turn?
